To Ride The Train To Ride The Train

From Orinda through Oakland, I keep going, knowing I'll stop in the city at who knows when.
Until then, I'm just here to ride the train.
I keep to myself, keeping the eye contact at zero, talking to no one, even though I want to talk, too.
But I don't, I won't.
Anyway, it's hard to lend an ear to hear the other person when the only music playing is the crying and wailing of the train making tracks.

A man goes from car to car with cards in hand that say he's deaf and needs money.
He's probably mute, too, but isn't it funny that I'm the one who acts dumb. Suddenly I can't read or write.

Clown Town Walking home from work one day,
I was alright and feeling gay.
But then I heard a noise below,
Twas' not a laugh, but more bellow.

To my surprise when I looked down,
I saw a scary, hairy clown.
I backed away, choked up with fright,
and ran into the looming night.

He honked like mad and soon gave chase
right at my heels, from place to place.
I begged him, "Please! Don't make me die."
He raised his hand and all was pie.

Pilled Up For every problem, you can solve 'em with a pill.
Pop the cap with a click and a clack and take it with water.
We "need" and bleed for them and gladly pay the bill.
And soon, each one of us becomes a user and waiter.

We wait in line, queued up, but not yet used up.
Salivating for the bottle, sitting on our haunches, ready to go full throttle for the oval treats inside,
But hold up! This is a holdup, a stick-up, unless you don't know what's up,
Then just hand over the money for the honey and enjoy the ride.

Pain? Pill. Sad? Pill. Fat? Pill. Don't want kids? Pill.

The Dali Universe exhibition? I tried looking them up, but they seem to still be busy relocating, if the site is indicative of the status. Maybe they need more... time.
